1. Use of the Site

ChemUnlocked provides educational chemistry content, including tutorials, practice problems, study tools, and premium practice services.

You agree to:

• Use the Site for personal learning, classroom instruction, or other lawful educational purposes.
• Use premium content only through your own authorized access.
• Follow all applicable laws and school, classroom, and lab safety rules.

You may not:

• Copy, scrape, repost, sell, distribute, or package ChemUnlocked content without permission.
• Share premium access tokens, use another person's premium access, or try to bypass subscription or access controls.
• Interfere with the Site, overload the Site, probe for vulnerabilities, or misuse any ChemUnlocked system or service provider.
• Use the Site for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive activity.

2. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, ChemUnlocked owns the content on the Site, including text, practice problems, explanations, diagrams, code, page designs, and other educational materials.

You may use ChemUnlocked materials for personal learning and classroom instruction. You may not publicly repost, resell, redistribute, or create a competing content product from ChemUnlocked materials without written permission.

3. Premium Subscriptions and Paid Content

Some ChemUnlocked content and practice tools are available only through a paid premium subscription.

• Subscriptions are billed and managed through Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
• You may cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• Premium access is granted only while your subscription is active or otherwise valid.
• You are responsible for keeping your billing information accurate and up to date.
• We may add, remove, update, reorganize, or modify lessons, practice problems, and premium features over time.

Stripe may provide a customer billing portal where subscribers can manage payment methods, view invoices, and cancel subscriptions. Billing and payment processing are subject to Stripe's terms and policies.

4. Refunds

Because you may cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the current billing period, subscription payments are generally not refunded after purchase except where required by law or where ChemUnlocked chooses to make an exception.

If you believe there was a billing error, please contact us promptly through the ChemUnlocked contact form.

5. Educational Disclaimer

We aim to provide accurate, high-quality chemistry learning materials, but we do not guarantee that every explanation, problem, answer, calculation, or page will be error-free.

ChemUnlocked is educational support. It is not a substitute for your teacher, professor, school, lab manual, institution, safety instructions, or professional advice. Always follow your instructor's guidance and applicable safety rules.

We do not guarantee that using the Site will improve academic performance, grades, test results, or other outcomes.

6. Site Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Site at any time. Access may be interrupted because of maintenance, updates, internet problems, provider outages, payment processing issues, database issues, security events, or other technical problems.

We are not responsible for temporary interruptions or loss of access caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

7. Third-Party Services

ChemUnlocked uses third-party services to operate the Site and premium features, including Stripe for billing and payments, Supabase for subscriber records and access data, Netlify for hosting and serverless functions, Formspree for contact form submissions, and email providers for communications.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, policies, outages, billing rules, or actions.

8. Termination and Access Restrictions

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to ChemUnlocked if we believe a user has violated these Terms, misused premium access, attempted to bypass access controls, abused the Site, or created risk for ChemUnlocked, other users, or service providers.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChemUnlocked is not liable for errors or omissions in content, academic or personal outcomes from use of the Site, interruptions or technical issues, loss of access, third-party service problems, or any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site.

Use the Site at your own risk.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Classroom and Institutional Use

Teachers and instructors may use ChemUnlocked free content for classroom instruction. If a teacher purchases a premium subscription for student use, the teacher or institution is responsible for ensuring that student access complies with applicable school policies, parental consent requirements, and any relevant student privacy laws (such as FERPA or COPPA).

Premium access is tied to the purchasing account and may not be shared across multiple users unless a multi-seat or institutional plan is offered and purchased.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lake County, Illinois. We encourage resolving disputes through good-faith communication before pursuing formal legal action.
